DATRON AG Receives “ETHICS IN BUSINESS” Seal of Excellence

Mühltal, 15 October 2012 - DATRON AG, special machines manufacturer from Mühltal, has received the "ETHICS IN BUSINESS" certificate in Berlin. Matthias Reck, DATRON AG’s CTO, received the award from the Guild’s mentor, Ulrich Wickert, during a festive charity event at the Jewish Museum on 5 October.

DATRON AG was awarded the seal of excellence for its corporate culture and corporate responsibility. Specifically, DATRON AG has been recognised especially for its active responsibility for the location, the staff and the environment (energy-efficient machines), its social commitment, its sustainable supplier management and its sustainable product stewardship beyond the sales process.

“Corporate and social responsibility and the fair treatment of our employees and business partners have been a crucial aspect at DATRON since the company's founding in 1969”, stated DATRON AG’s CEO, Dr. Arne Bruesch. “The ETHICS IN BUSINESS Seal of Excellence recognises our continued commitment and proves that we are actively pursuing our corporate responsibility”.

Companies from Germany, Austria and Switzerland were analyzed according to scientific guidelines of the University of St. Gallen on their corporate values, human resources, social responsibility, environmental responsibility in the supply chain and product stewardship.

The “ETHICS IN BUSINESS (EIB)” guild brings together companies that are committed to corporate social responsibility, i.e., accepting corporate responsibility for their actions and acting according to the principle: “Good business for a good society”. The ethics of the manner the income is earned have priority over the desirable goal of using parts of the company’s income for ethical purposes.

The company places great emphasis on a healthy work-life balance for employees and the reconciliation of work place and family. Flexible working hours, home office and short-term leaves to care for ill or in-need-of-care family members are considered a matter of course at DATRON. Many different corporate sports offers, such as back exercises, yoga, swimming lessons, an in-house gym, volleyball, etc., provide for the physical well-being of the staff.
