The user interface is simple and intuitive, all available functions are featured in a step-by-step mode in order to guide the user through the creation of the desired machining process.

The stock library is easily-editable to add custom shapes and several raw materials from different suppliers. By means of the new interface you can combine and manage simultaneously multiple stocks and partially used stocks to be re-machined. Starting from standard shapes you can create a custom stock library: once defined the kind of material and the disk’s thickness it’s possible to input the material scale factor setting the different shrinkage of any block.

The nesting optimizes the usage of stock material arranging multiple parts in the best position. SUM3D Dental automatically optimizes the 4th/5th axes inclination to reduce the stock thickness. The most efficient tool-path and the best machining strategy are automatically generated to fit different materials and tasks. All parameters, pre-set strategies and tools are customizable to obtain ad-hoc machining.

Support and sintering pins can be automatically or manually added; their shape, size and position can be easily modified. Undercut areas are automatically detected and managed. For the best milling of undercuts lollipop tools can be used, also on 3 axes machines.

During the import, the software automatically detects bores and their angles and applies the best 5 axes tool-path. Thanks to the function of axes detection the bores’ management is made easy: in just one click you can modify diameters and lengths.

Furthermore, in models without bores it’s possible to create them easily.

Automatic tool-paths are generated to fit any kind of abutment. Internal edges of the abutment are automatically detected and finished during the machining.

Excellent results are ensured by the automatic detection of border-collets and relative creation of prep-lines.

In 5 axes machining the software performs automatically all the processes necessary to obtain the finished part, including the automatic undercuts detection and management. 

All items, tool, spindle, and stock (including the machine’s parts and fixtures) are managed to avoid any collision during the process. The simulation displays the tool-path with accurate check of each step of the process, ensuring the good quality of the finished part.

The SUM3D Dental Statistics module fully manages all the information related to the production. It is possible to create statistics of the performed machinings and re-machinings. Several filters enable to sort and display data by customer, date, etc.
